Waters Edge Retreat Day 3

Sunday morning saw us rise a little later than yesterday - more because I don't think we wanted the weekend to come to and end. Sam & I slowly packed up our things and then we headed down for breakie. After breakies we packed the car with the items we didn't need for the rest of the day. By 9am we were back into it laughing and stitching - congratulating those ladies who managed to get items finished. Slowly some of the ladies started to depart after lunch, promising to return again soon, not before one generous lady decided we should participate in a christmas in july swap next year - OMG what can I possibly make??? as you will soon see I'm the queen of unfinished projects grrrrrrrr

Trying to get 65 or so women together for a photo proved to be a little difficult lol
We ventured back inside and decided to get a photo of our fantastic table along with our wonderful tutors - this proved to be a little easier to manage. We managed to get a little bit done before we left at 4pm but our biggest achievement for the weekend is that we made some new friends! Table 10 promises to return next time along with our own little table challenge - a bag/purse to show off and something to swap!! Ohhh I can't wait to go back again - at least I might get something else finished - I work good under pressure lol
Anni, Ann, Sam, Bernie, Sandra, Natalie, Lou & Janelle
Thankyou to everyone who made my first ever retreat one that will be hard to beat! Everyone was so giving with their time and knowledge. Until Next time - Happy Stitching xoxo

Waters Edge Retreat Day 2

Day 1 ended with Sam and I sitting up in our beds until just past midnight stitching our 'Anni' project. We woke to the sound of rain on the roof at around 6am - we opened the blinds and started stitching again - waving to our neighbours as they wandered down to breakie. We headed down at around 8am to start our day, as we entered we saw our table 10 buddies waving from up the front. A yummy breakfast of bacon & eggs and a special guest (Anni Downs) and no dishes for us! What a way to start the day :)
We headed over to the stitching area to get in to it.

Our day was spent busy on our machines, on our table Bernie and Margaret were making Janelle's bag, Sandra and Lou were making Natalie's retreat seat and Sam & I continued on with Anni's table topper.
We headed over at night fall for a beautiful dinner - the food was sooo good but the company was even better. Table 10 had formed great friendships throughout the day and half way through dinner Sandra had us all laughing so hard Kim came to see if she had laid any eggs ;o The evening continued on with a show and tell - there were 42 quilts on show, some ladies even had a story to go with theirs. We all got back into it around 9pm when suddenly the music changed and we had a special guest - Salami from the land of 12 fat quarters!! Poor Kim - I still don't think she is over the shock.
The evening ended with Kim closing the room at 11.30pm. Table 10 headed over for one last cuppa and a chat before bed. We all headed to bed around 12.30 not with out possibly waking our neighbours - Sandra you are sooo naughty lol :)
Bye for now & happy stitching xox

Waters Edge Retreat 2011 Day 1

Wow what a weekend!! I set of after breakfast on Friday to pick up my friend Sam who was meeting me in Sydney. We were itching to get there but check in time was 5pm that afternoon, so we did a spot of shopping at a couple of the local patchwork shops and at 2.30pm we hit the road :) We talked non stop about what we were going to work on over the weekend & who we would have at our table. After a couple of hours in the car we arrived at our destination - as we came over the hill we were greet by 2 wombats busy eating lush green grass on the side of the road, (I haven't seen that for a very long time).
We quickly checked in and began meeting other excited ladies. We dined on pizza for tea and the lovely Janelle Wind sat with us -she is just the most beautiful person. At 7.30pm Kim announced that we could finally enter the stitching room to meet our tutors for the weekend. Sam & I quickly found that we were on table 10 & very excited to see who would be our stitching buddies for the weekend.
I promise to add more photo's tomorrow and share what I decide to make :) Happy stitching xox

Today is my first attempt at putting a blog together, not to sure how it will all work out but here goes.............

I'm soooo excited because I'm heading to Jukejema's Stitching at the Waters Edge Retreat with one of my Best Friends. We are having 3 tutors - Janelle Wind, Natalie Ross and Anni Downs. All the projects look amazing & I'm hoping to come home with a finished project!
