A Daisy, Chocolates & Ice Cream

Now that I have managed to spend some time on this quilt - I can't seem to put it down!

Tis The Season.........

Late last year 2 dear friends - Sam (a cupful of stitches) and Susan (Thimble stitches) and I were talking / watching how great every one's TTS quilts were looking and decided that we should do it together this year. 

The other girls were itching to start and have already posted about their first blocks. So far I have only managed to pick my boarder colours and cut out my stitchery back ground.

I have decided to use the fabric range 'Scandinavian Christmas' by Lynette Anderson. I'm not too sure whether to use only 2 or 4 fabric's for the inner boarders - any suggestions??

Lock it in.............

2012 for me is going to be the year of Stitching!!

I have decided that I'm going to spend a few special weekends away this year stitching with friends

 (both new & old).

1st: Nundle in March, which is all locked in and the count down is on!

2nd: Katoomba in October, booked & accommodation all set. 

 I'm soo excited .... I can't wait!!

I hope you manage to find some time to get away, to do some stitching too :)

A great day.......

Sunday saw me sitting at the cricket watching sporty play in his last junior representative match. The team played well and they bowled out the Blue Mountains with overs to spare - it was a very exciting game!

I did manage to do in a little stitching for this pretty little pincushion whilst watching the game.....

and after dinner I cut all the little squares for the top and bottom.

Tonight I hope to put it all together, before my kids head back to school tomorrow and the homework and after school activities begin!!

A little bit of stitching..........

Today I'm out of my sewing room and off to watch Sporty in his Rep Cricket Semi Final against the Blue Mountains. I get a little nervous taking my SKoW out of the house (in case I lose something), so I have decided to start on the little pin cushion out of Anni's 'My favourite things' book.

Catching up................

 I have been lucky enough to have had a couple of days off work this week and I have spent it with my sewing machine. All the family knew where to find me if they needed anything (usually food!)

This is my progress so far........................

Finally a start........

Over the past few nights I had my trusty rotary cutter working flat out. I have finally decided what fabric's to put where and labeled them all ready to go.

I have decided to go with the needle turn applique technique.
I started with the patty cakes.....

Next I completed the umbrella....

I'm really enjoying watching everyone's progress on this quilt
